Mr. Taylor is a great shave cream. It has a wonderfully masculine scent that lightly lingers post-shave, and it lathers beautifully, no additional application needed. The shave is close, and skin feels soft and supple afterwards. My only complaint is that the cream is a little soft for use with a brush, causing one to use too much and have a lot of waste. Use with fingertips is thus optimal.
great; I use it all the time
I always wanted a TOBS product since I stared my wet shaving experience. And I couldn't let slip away the $9.00 reduce price tag that GL offers. So, I gave it a try and Oh my!!! the essence is marvelous, makes a puffy cloudy foam and makes my 1930 Gillette NEW slide like there is no tomorrow. I fully recommend this product from GL...because is and excellent oportunity to try an amazing product for a tinny price.
I've used Taylor products for years, they are always top quality and much cheaper than some other British shaving products. The scent on Mr Taylor is clean and mature, perfect for those don't want to smell like Grandpa, or like their teenager. I shave 5 days a week and one tub lasts me about three months. Great stuff.
As the GL description says, this one is definitely worth trying. I have tried a number of brands, and this is among the best, assuming a couple of things: this is a foamy, very light, and super slick shaving cream. It's best used with pre-shave oil and a good brush. You'll get a ton of smooth foam with a very, very small amount, so the value is outstanding. In terms of quality, it's between a 4 and 5 out of 5. It is way better than something like the Art of Shaving or Kiehl's, and is probably on par with the Jack Black Supreme Cream or Geo F. Trumper, but not quite as good as Truefitt & Hill. I really like the "Mr. Taylor's" scent as well; it's quite old-school, complex, and masculine, and makes me feel like I'm shaving the way my grandpa intended.
