Shout out to all the old dogs not afraid of learning new tricks. These days, if you’re hungry for knowledge or looking to stay relevant in your career, you can teach yourself just about anything by taking an online course. So, quit griping about technology and instead harness its power to add to your skillset. Taking an online course gives you the ability to tap into just about every subject at every level; you can learn at your own pace, on your schedule, and in your way. No matter what your age, time constraints or financial situation, if you’re a self-starter looking for a business edge, you’ll want to get schooled by Omar Zenhom, co-founder of The $100 MBA. After all, knowledge is power.
What inspired you to start The $100 MBA? And how does it work?
I started The $100 MBA because I wanted to make business education accessible to those who wanted to start a business but didn't have the time or money to go to a traditional business school. I studied at Wharton Business School and dropped out after my first semester when I realized; the big business schools don't have a monopoly on business education. You can learn the fundamentals of business without the high price tag.
The $100 MBA is practical business education with over 180 video lessons and interactive workbooks for a $100. Students can go at their own pace and are encouraged to start applying what they learn in each lesson immediately in a small business project.
Why is it so important for professionals to keep educating themselves during their career?
The only thing in this world that is guaranteed is change. We need to make sure we adapt and grow. Learning new skills not only helps us in the present to catch up to the change, but the practice of learning on the fly makes us more adaptable and valuable as a professional.
The $100 MBA Show has been called one of the best business podcasts by Fast Company, Entrepreneur, Forbes, and INC. What makes these lessons standout?
All our lessons are always to the point and practical. My goal is to have listeners be able to know exactly how to implement something new to see real-world results in their business or themselves.
Why do you think podcasts provide such a great learning platform?
Podcasts allow you to learn while you're taking care of life; like doing the dishes or walking your dog. This allows listeners to be consistent in their learning. Momentum is huge and can be the defining factor in success or failure.
Do you have a personal favorite online course or podcast episode? And which episode is most popular with your listeners?
Our Idea Validation Course is a huge favorite with our students. Here are a few of my favorite podcast episodes.
