When it comes to the courtside style of March Madness, we've picked these dapper NCAA basketball coaches for our Final Four. Why? Because studies have shown, when you dress for success you’re mentally sharper, more competitive and command authority. In other words, you’re a winner. Hey, it ain't called a power tie for nothing! When it comes to style, these guys bring their A-game. Your bracket may be busted but these competitors are most certainly not. When it comes to looking good, these elite NCAA basketball coaches advance to our Final Four.
Jay Wright – Villanova
President Obama has referred to Jay Wright as "the best-dressed man in college basketball." We agree. He's had help over the seasons from Master Tailor and Designer Gabe D’Annunzio of D&B Tailors. And it’s all about the fit. This tailoring team gets Coach Wright game ready and looking sharp in elegant three-piece and double-breasted breasted suits, which can only be carried by a man of his stature. And his accessories can't be beaten. This NCAA basketball coach is so styling his suit has it’s own Twitter handle, @JayWrightsSuit.
Jim Boeheim – Syracuse
Coach Boeheim’s attempt to escape his sport jacket during his infamous ejection from the Duke game was by far his best fashion moment. And later, Coach auctioned that very same jacket raising $14,000. for the Jim and Juli Boeheim Foundation. Swoosh! We like Boeheim’s evolving style thanks to the guidance of his wife Juli and clothier Adrian Jules. Coach Boeheim is all about his signature sport jacket, never a suit. "It's more of an Italian classic. That's what we've designed it around," says Peter A. Roberti from Adrian Jules. "The shoulders are not real built up because he's a tall guy and he doesn't want to be overbearing. But it's got a little shoulder to them. It's more of a sloping shoulder with a classic fit. It's not real tight. You've seen him coaching. He's up and down. We wanted to give him the flexibility to coach in his garment."
Coach K – Duke
If you want to ball like a boss, dress like Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski. For the Devil's leader, getting to the Final Four is all in the details. And it’s not hard to dress like the winningest coach in NCAA Division 1 basketball history. It just takes discipline. Coach K keeps his suits dark and impeccably tailored. His shirts are crisp with a moderate spread collar that doesn’t swallow his tie or take over his face. And he’s always well groomed. It's a no-nonsense look that commands respect. Yes, clothes make the man. But graduating both Catholic high school and the United States Military Academy at West Point will have you looking real comfortable working in a suit and tie.
Porter Moser - Loyola-Chicago
All you haters can ramble on. Yes, Porter Moser has some work to do when it comes to refining his game day look. He’s definitely made some questionable pattern choices. But, this NCAA basketball coach has all the makings of a sartorial star. Clothes fit him well, and his fabric and color choices have been first string. If he grounds his outfits with a solid color and tones down the loud prints, he'll be the Cinderella style story of the tourney. Surely, Sister Jean can help him up his style game!
