Fill Your Drawers With These Underwear Styles For Men

Is it time to replenish your underwear? Have a good look at them. If they have holes, stains or a shredded waistband, it's time to dump them. Is the fabric worn, gray or dingy? Ditch them. If you're still unsure, try them on. Are they the right size? If you have a muffin top, plumbers crack, or you're squeezed in like a sausage; you need to size up. And if you’re losing your drawers, it’s time to splurge on a better fitting pair with more elasticity.

Of course, you should change your underwear a least once a day and twice if you're hitting the gym. But generally speaking, you should have enough clean underwear to last your for three weeks. And once a year, replace your basics. Underwear subscriptions to companies like MeUndies and Tommy John make it easier than ever to replenish your supply. From tighty whities to breathable boxers here’s are a few pairs of underwear staples to stockpile.

Boxers

There’s something to be said for classic cotton boxer shorts like these from Polo Ralph Lauren. On the plus side, they’re lightweight, loose and give your boys some healthy breathing room. On the negative, they’ll bunch up under tight jeans and can look bulky and weird under suit pants. And although you may think they double as shorts, an embarrassing dick slip would suggest otherwise.

Briefs

For guys looking for good coverage without any excess fabric, the standard issue brief is a good choice. Choose cotton blends with a bit of spandex or microfiber with a little stretch for a snug supported fit. And no, you don’t have to use bleach and boiling water to keep them super white. Just be sure to separate your colors and tumble dry on low heat.

Boxer Briefs

According the GQ women prefer boxer briefs to any other style of men’s underwear. In a survey of 200 women, they were called most manly with one lady liking them because they're "Sexier than boxers and accentuate thighs." Enough said.

Trunks

If you're torn between your tighty whities and longer boxer briefs, the square cut trunk is a nice compromise. Remember, it is always best to stick to neutral colors. Avoid silly patterns unless you’re cool with her giggling at your assets. And no joke, don’t ever wear black underwear under light colored khakis or white jeans.

Compression Shorts

We’re not saying that compression shorts will give you super performance powers, but there are many benefits to wearing them. They have been known to reduce muscle fatigue and soreness while helping endurance and easing recovery time. And most importantly, compression shorts like these from Under Armour make for a more comfortable workout. And after all isn't comfort what it's all about?
